AGENDA

8:30 AM Coffee, etc. Registration

9:00 AM Welcome, Introductions

9:30 AM Are Futurists Offering What the Market Wants?
From this panel discussion, leaders in the futures field share their insight on the expectations of corporate & organizational customers, and where the professional futures field is headed with new services & products to meet customer needs.
  • Robert Hahn, VP Strategic Development, Pitney Bowes, Inc.
  • Michael Jackson, Chairman, Shaping Tomorrow, UK
  • John Petersen, President, The Arlington Inst. USA
  • Joan Foltz, Principal, Alsek Research, USA

11:00 AM The Rise of Citizen 2.0: Alan Rosenblatt
Alan is an expert on digital political strategies. He is the Associate Director for Online Advocacy at the Center for American Progress. He is looking forward to meeting us, presenting his ideas and getting into an intense discussion of the future of politics with us.

12:30-1:30 PM LUNCH

1:30 pm Explore Your Ability to Conjecture: Mobility Vision Integration
Using a new scenario tool developed by Lloyd Walker, Principal, of Precurve LLC, and the students at the Art Center College of Design at Pasadena, we’ll test our reactions to it and discuss state of the art in scenario tools.

3:00 PM What Do They Do After We’ve Gone?—Best practices to motivate & help our clients
We’ve all had it happen. Our client is excited by the insights & implications of our forecasts, is engaged in the scenarios and early warnings and vows to make the results an ongoing part of the future of their enterprise. When we check back a few months later we find that, ah, we really didn’t get rolling like we thought—other stuff got in the way, we ran out of resources, or ___ (you fill in the blank!).
  • Jim Burke, Northrop Grumman TASCFuturesGroup
